Mini-Heaters made of non-glass material are a safe method for maintaining the proper temperature range in smaller aquariums so popular today. Some aquariums have these heaters built-in but others do not. These heaters are designed to raise water temperature about 3-5 degrees above the room temperature. A temperature range of 76-78 degrees is ideal for most desktop aquariums with tropical fish.
