This benefits both fish and plant life by increasing oxygen in the pond and the release of harmful gasses. This is especially beneficial in the summer months when dissolved oxygen is lower due to the increased temperature of the water. The unit can also be used during the winter months to keep a small area of the pond's surface from freezing over which allows some harmful gasses to escape.
