There are two outlet extensions included with the Rena Filstar XP Canister Filters. The short extension will discharge water from the filter(spraybar or power jet) into the aquarium about 2 inches from the top. Use the shorter extension if you wish to discharge the water at the surface for increased surface agitation. Use the spraybar for a more gentle return of water into the aquarium.
